Israel's Genocide isn't "Netanyahu's War"
Recent Israeli polling confirms the extent to which the Israeli public supports their state's genocidal policies and opposes Palestinian self-determination
Recent polling indicates that fully 68% of Jewish Israelis oppose allowing humanitarian aid into Gaza, even through channels disconnected from Hamas and UNRWA.
51% of them recognize that the odds of Israel achieving an absolute military victory over Hamas are fairly or extremely low. This has no effect on their broad support for starving Gaza.
63% of Jewish Israelis oppose "in principle" the creation of a Palestinian state, even a denuded and demilitarized one. This attitude is reflected in a recent Knesset resolution, expected to pass this year, opposing the creation of a Palestinian state in any situation.
In January, after Israel had massacred more than 25,000 Palestinians in Gaza, 94% of Jewish Israelis voiced support for the miltiary onslaught. 51% of them felt that Israel had used "the right amount of firepower" in Gaza, while another 43% protested that it had not used enough. (This is consistent with widespread support for Israel's pre-October 7 Gaza massacres.)
Today, 53% of Jewish Israelis favor an additional "all-out war" against Hezbollah in South Lebanon, where Israel has killed more than 400 people and displaced 90,000 others since October. (They are fully aware of what this would mean for Lebanon's civilian population, which Israel slaughtered en masse in 1978, 1982, and 2006.)
Don't listen to Democrats. What we're witnessing is not "Netanyahu's war." It's an increasingly genocidal Israeli society, armed and enabled by the US government, enacting the genocidal ideology upon which Israel was founded. Slaughtering Arabs and Palestinians is one of the few things that Israel's major political factions can be reliably expected to unite around.
The democrats have just as much vested interests in Israel as the conservatives have had in the past. Most people don’t know the basic history of the territory / Palestine or the ideological plague of Zionism. They can’t differentiate anti-Zionism from anti-semitism maybe you can help educate the public on that.
